Telecom regulatory authority of india has announced that mobile number portability will cost subscriber a maximum of Rs19. Operators, however, were free to impose any amount less than or equal to this charge.
Mobile number portability(MNP) allows a subscriber to retain the mobile telephone number when moving from one service provider to another, irrespective of the mobile technology.
In India mobile number portability (MNP) will be introduced on December 31.Firstly it will come into force in the metro cities and ‘A’ circle cities and in other parts of the country by March 20, 2010.
